"Loves the presence of God at the meeting, loves the fellowship with the leaders, loves the walk home from EDB and loves the music playing in the background as the day comes to an end.."
We had a short but in my opinion good leaders meeting just now. When we were worshipping, there was this vision (as in picture) that came to my mind as we sang the song. In my mind, there was this desert scene, where the floors are all dried up and it looked something like that:
There are cracks in the ground and everything is so dry, that there is NO LIFE on the ground. Then it felt like the Holy Spirit began to ask me, what will happen when it rains in the desert? (with the years of Geography background at the back of my mind) I thought to myself that it never rain in the desert, it POURS!! More than that, you get gashes of water rushing down the valleys (forming what we call flash floods) as there is literally no penetration of the rain into the ground but all will flow on the surface of the ground.
Desert rain is always heavy and torrential!Maybe some of our lives are like the dried up grounds in a desert, maybe some of our situations are like that, may be some of us think that our CG is like that. We try so hard, we prayed and we do what we can but there dont seem to be any breakthrough. What we need right now is desert rain, where the rain of the Holy Spirit will come and wash over all the dry grounds. When the rain comes, it is not measured but there is a sudden gash, there is more than enough, there is an abundance!! It will flood out all the dry area, it will bring life to the land, it will be a move that you never see before and there, you will have your breakthrough.
After the desert rain, you will see the rainbow, the springing forth of some of the most beautiful plants, right in the middle of the desert.
And even after the rain stops to fall, the water from the rain is able to sustain and nourish until the next desert rain.Desert plants are adaptable, they are made and developed in such a way that they can survive in the worse weather condition, yet through their reserves of water and nutrients to last time through long period of drought and lack. Are we able to do that just like the desert plants?
Isaiah 51:3 (NKJV)
For the LORD will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the LORD;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
Walk through the desert and let the rain of the Holy Spirit wash through this land!
